The Board and Staff of Culture Works hosted an Open House on December 5th, to introduce the community to the new first floor location in the Premier Health Center, at 110 North Main Street. A total of more than 100 supporters braved the threat of an ice storm that evening to see the new location, and enjoy pizza and beer samplings.
“We are excited to now be in a high traffic location, with greater visibility to better serve as an arts and culture information center for the entire community,” said Alan Schaeffer, Immediate Past Board Chair. “Access is an important part of our mission.”
Attendees at the Open House were treated to pizza samplings from The Wheat Penny Oven and Bar and beer samplings from the Yellow Springs Brewery, with live music provided by guitarist Danny Voris. An exhibit from the Dayton Visual Arts Center “Art to Buy” was showcased in the new glass storefront and attendees received tours and were able to pick up brochures and information about cultural activities through the entire region.
“Not only is this an ideal location to increase access, but moving to this location provides an opportunity to forge a deeper level of engagement with Premier Health, who support not only Culture Works, but so many of the arts and cultural organizations in the community,” said Culture Works Board Chair, Amber Best. “We are also very grateful to Elements IV Interiors and Nova Technology Solutions for their in-kind support that assisted us in making this move.”
