Culture Works announced today that it will be moving to a first floor location in the Premier Health Center, at 110 North Main Street, in late September.
“We are excited to be moving to a more high traffic, greater visibility location to better serve as an arts and culture information center for the entire community,” said Martine Meredith Collier, President and CEO of Culture Works. “Access is an important part of our mission.”
The new Culture Works location will be directly across from the Premier food service area and adjacent to Jesse’s Barber Shop.
“There is a great vitality present in this entire building, and this particular location is definitely a gathering place for the entire downtown community,” said Collier, “We look forward to providing an opportunity for diners and others passing through the building to stop in and pick up brochures and information about all of the exciting arts and culture activities not just in Downtown Dayton, but throughout the entire region.”
Culture Works Board Chair, Amber Best, agrees, adding that, “Not only is this an ideal location to increase access, but moving to this location provides an opportunity to forge a deeper level of partnership with Premier Health, who support not only Culture Works, but so many of the arts and cultural organizations in the community.”
For more than 20 years, Culture Works leased a 2,400 square foot office suite on the second floor of the Metropolitan Arts Center—the building adjacent to their new location. In 2012, determining that they needed less space, Culture Works vacated their former offices to allow the newly formed Dayton Performing Arts Alliance, who were looking for one space that could accommodate the staffs of the Dayton Philharmonic, the Dayton Opera, and the Dayton Ballet to come together as a single unit.
