Central Ohio Fiction Writers, a romance-enriched organization, brings together writers of all levels and genres. COFW monthly meetings are both in person and via Zoom and host a program with an award-winning author. Weekly online writing sprints, a monthly word count competition, and regular meetups for plotting ideas are also part of COFW activities.

The Dayton Literary Peace Prize, inaugurated in 2006, is the first and only annual U.S. literary award recognizing the power of the written word to promote peace. The Dayton Literary Peace Prize invites nominations in adult fiction and nonfiction books published within the past year that have led readers to a better understanding of other cultures, peoples, religions, and political points of view.

The Dayton Weekly News is Dayton, Ohio’s longest running African American News publication, a title they are very proud to possess. Following in the footsteps of past publishers of minority newspapers like Paul Laurence Dunbar, who published Dayton's first African American newspaper, The Tattler, gives the publication a great sense of pride. They work hard to provide a voice for the African American community and to deliver positive news, in print and now online.

Through the workshop, the University of Dayton and the Bombeck family honor one of America’s most celebrated storytellers and humorists. Mock Turtle Zine is an independent publishing effort undertaken to give artists and authors in Dayton, Ohio, and surrounding areas a vehicle for sharing their work. This nonprofit, all-volunteer local publication gives first preference to work submitted by artists and authors from or with ties to Miami Valley. Mock Turtle Zine seeks to motivate people in the region to visit our urban hub—Dayton, Ohio—and to seek out all the creative outlets enriching our cityscape.
