Categories: Latest News,News

Every year, Culture Works hosts a Cultural Arts Day to introduce members of Leadership Dayton to the full spectrum of arts and culture in the Dayton Region.
During this year’s Cultural Arts Day on October 12th, the Leadership Dayton Class of 2017 toured the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center with Victoria Theatre Association President Ken Neufeld, learned to whip and nae nae with members of Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, watched crew building the set of The Human Race Theatre Company’s upcoming production, Hail Mary!, and learned about the rich history of the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance and The Dayton Art Institute. Perhaps most importantly, class members heard from arts leaders about the important role that arts and culture play in the Dayton Region’s economy and workforce development.
For the day’s grand finale, the class headed to Muse Machine’s rehearsal studio, where award-winning director Joe Deer put attendees in the spotlight in a performance of “Welcome to the Sixties” from Muse Machine’s upcoming musical, Hairspray.

Leadership Dayton is a premier leadership development program designed to identify, educate and motivate a network of community leaders and increase their capacity to serve the Dayton Region. Learn more about their mission here.
